What:     The Global Scavenger Hunt™ is the 9th annual around-the-world travel adventure competition that takes Teams on A Blind Date With The World™.

When:      April 2013, for three-weeks between April 12th and May 4th, 2013. Fifteen teams will travel from San Francisco to New York City--the long way!

Who:      Team from around the world participate. (Previous events have had Teams from USA, Canada, England, Dubai & Barbados; travelers from 45 nations have applied for previous events.)

Prizes:      The World's Greatest Travelers™ trophy and $22,000 prize (Winners are invited to defend their title in the next event.) 2012 defending champs Saskia & Andrew from New Zealand, will be defending their title in 2013.

Where:      A circumnavigation of the globe touching down in at least 10 countries; that may include: Peru, Brazil, China, Viet Nam, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Russia, Greece, and Italy. (These are only potential countries as The Global Scavenger Hunt™ is indeed A Blind Date With The World™ for all its participants--because they don't know which 10 countries they will be visiting until they board a 747 over the International Dateline!

Why:     Teams will be helping to raise money toward a $1 million goal for ongoing humanitarian causes. Past organizations that have benefited include: Doctors Without Borders, CARE, Mercy Corps International, Partners in Health and KIVA. Past events have helped fund co-ed elementary schools in Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Niger and Ecuador.
